I think it might have stopped working when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. This not only provides great flexibility in terms of 24/7 access to devices and resources, it can also improve energy efficiency since devices can be turned off when not in use. Wake on Lan/sharing used to work wonderfully for me, but lately it has stopped working. With the Wake-on-LAN feature from TeamViewer, you can remotely access and control devices no matter whether they’re switched on or off. (At least, that's how it used to work for me. I think it might have stopped working when I upgraded to Mountain Lion.) Wake on Lan/sharing used to work wonderfully for me, but lately it has stopped working. (I don't remember if you have to click on Connect As. The sleeping Mac should wake up, and the window should show the Mac's shared folders and a Share Screen button. The sharing Mac should be listed under "Shared" if you have checked the items under Shared in Finder->Preferences->Sidebar. Put that machine (the one sharing the service) to sleep. You can test this by going to System Preferences->Sharing and choosing one of the services, like Screen Sharing and/or File Sharing.Īlso in System Preferences->Energy Saver, ensure you have "Wake for network Access" (or equivalent-wording is slightly different on different machines) checked. Forward the port (to which the magic pakket was send) to the broadcast address of the router.I don't know anything about TeamViewer, but it might help narrow down the problem if you "took it out of the equation" and checked to see if Wake On Lan works for the built-in OS X sharing services.Make a static ARP-table in the router (not possible with a Time Capsule). On the internet, I found following possible solutions: I have found on the the internet that it is because the Time Capsule forget where the computer is (I have made a DHCP reservation to the mac-address of the computer, but if the computer is turned of, the router forgets the pad to the computer) I have followed the steps that are described on the internet, and I can awake the computer in het 20 minutes after he was turned off. I want to shut down the windows pc and awake him when I need him, often over the internet. (I use Teamviewer to work on the windows pc) (I use a separate computer over parallels, since it is software that use a lot of resources of the computer) Windows 10 machine (which I use for software that don't run on os: FEM, girahomeserver.).
